Script Coaching
Any creative process thrives on a healthy dose of risk. This often means phases of inspiration are followed by phases of cluelessness and despair. Struggle is usually included.
However, the horrible phase actually contains a huge chance: It can lead to break-throughs to new, truly original solutions! This artistic gold is found off the beaten paths and it takes guts to go there. In this process of forging a new path, we accompany you with experience, effective tools, and love for the writing human being.
A review by a ScriptCoach includes more than just dramaturgical feedback, it offers guidance through the development process because we believe: If the creator of a story steps into a dynamic, flowing process, the script will become dynamic, flowing, and unique.
If you want intensive and competent support, how about investing in yourself? You can book ScriptCoaching in two sizes:
Small project
Outline or a short film script
The size of your text is either an outline OR a short film script:
An outline of about 8 pages OR a script of up to 30 pages.
The coaching includes looking at the protagonists' goals, theme, message, style/tonality, and personal drive of the writer.
By asking structural questions and offering different development tools, the Script Coach helps to laser focus on the personal intention behind the project, reviving the original impulse to carry you through the development process.
By combining the mind (structure), the heart (passion), and the gut feeling (the spark), we take the essential steps in preparation to write a script.
Medium project
pilot or treatment
The practical intermediate format for TV series pilots, medium-length scripts, or longer treatments. Up to 60 pages per script or 14 pages treatments.
Two of the ScriptCoaches are trained series writers who write at an international level and are well versed in the dramatic differences between feature films and TV series. We’re also familiar with how writers’ rooms operate and understand just how much energy and vision go into the solitary work of writing a pilot! We’ll guide you through every step you need to take to successfully launch your series.
Large project
Extensive outline or feature film script
Your text is an extensive outline OR feature film script
The Script Coach will read your text closely, offering notes en detail to give you the most precise feedback to what you have written. Together, we find out what your vision is and where you want to take this project. Then we look for ways to get you there!
Sometimes the central idea is hidden between an array of other tempting ideas, or strong influences that are re-enacted. It is our job to make this conscious, enabling the writer to have a greater impact. With a clear vision and a personal voice, you go into the next draft.
When we push the imagination past the expectable we find the most surprising solutions.
How to float:
This ScriptCoaching is designed to bring visionary writers into their own voice and accompany them to their authentic expression. We work with you to bring your work into excellent shape so it can attract the partners who are looking for just your qualities.

Dear Paula, Your notes in the script, your summary at the end, and above all, our Zoom conversation were the most effective things I’ve ever encountered in the areas of dramaturgy, development, and coaching. Thank you so much again for that.
Dear Paula, Thank you so much for your insight and empathy! It’s helping me immensely once again. After reading your review, I took another look at the draft (and the coaching) from last time. It’s interesting how new elements have emerged that offer more depth and potential for conflict.
Okay, and now I can organize the material and better define the inner journey. Doing this just with the main character for now is helping me. Thanks again for pointing out that the dead are still present as characters. And thank you in general for all the helpful suggestions.
Have you ever had an AI evaluate your script or treatment? Yes, I know, it's incredibly fast and at first glance it seems well-founded, but the next morning comes and with it a second glance, and by the third glance at the latest, you know why Paula exists! No bits, no bytes, but brains and heart, and plenty of them. The AI hype is already on the decline, but Paula is still going strong.
And besides, it's just fun and very inspiring to have Paula and the scriptdock team take your book apart. The next morning, I put it back together, and then it's really a screenplay.
I used Carmen's script coaching service to draft my first screenplay. After just a few days, Carmen sent me some helpful initial feedback via ScriptDock. She pointed out the passages that worked well and those that didn't, as well as gaps in the story, and gave me some initial suggestions for improving my story. She was also available to answer all my questions in a follow-up phone call.
Even though I probably need script coaching more than others as a beginner, I can recommend it for all levels of experience. When booking a script coaching, it is possible to specify what kind of support you are hoping for. The objective view of someone experienced is ultimately very helpful for the further development of the screenplay!
