Biography
Olga Holtz had a highly respectable math career — Berkeley, Berlin, awards, €3 million in grants — then made the extremely "rational" decision to become a writer-director.
Raised in the Urals and shaped by two no-safety-net immigrations, she writes about genius, belonging, and the disaster of falling in love. Her award-winning short thriller played festivals worldwide; she’s a recent PAGE Awards finalist, a Page Turner winner, a Titan Awards category winner, and a RIFF Grand Jury Prize winner, with producers attached to her feature biopic and one of her TV series.
Also: international ballroom championships, Berlin Philharmonic Choir, German Vogue cover.
Subtlety was never really the plan.
