Profile

As a dramaturg I uncover blind spots, open up new possibilities and keep the core of the story in sight. My particular interest is in people under pressure and the decisions that change everything.

As a dramaturg I accompany stories from the first idea through to development. Or I come on board when an existing project needs fresh clarity and momentum.

Sometimes there is just a character, a theme or an idea, and the question of what story might be hiding inside it. Sometimes a lot is already there, but the core has become blurred, or different perspectives and notes are pulling the project in different directions. Sometimes personal stumbling blocks are simply getting in the way of the next step.

This is exactly where my strength lies: looking closely, uncovering blind spots and opening up new possibilities. I ask questions about characters, their decisions and what those decisions set in motion. Because I believe that every story has a core that will carry it once it becomes clear.

I work primarily on feature films, series, and children’s and family projects, as well as documentaries and hybrid formats. Genre boundaries interest me less than characters do.

My particular interest is in people under pressure, going through change, and reaching moments when they have to make a decision. I am drawn to stories about family and relationships, identity and belonging, power and dependency, and the question of what ultimately moves a person to take action.

I work one-to-one with writers as well as with teams and in writers’ rooms. When different ideas and perspectives collide, I am particularly good at bringing them together and facilitating the process. I see myself as a dramaturgical guardrail: holding on to the core of a story and keeping its direction in sight, without imposing solutions on writers or tea
